COLETTE LINTON-MEYER trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England where she received her accreditation LRAD & ARAD. Colette has been teaching in New York for over twenty years, training dancers of all ages. She taught at Coupe Theatre Studio on her arrival to the US. Founder of Cobble Hill Ballet, Colette is thrilled to bring her knowledge and experience to the community. She has loved seeing the students grow as dancers over their years at Cobble Hill Ballet. Many students have been training at CHBallet for 10 plus years now and it is a great joy to see them blossom.
ALWYN McCORMICK began her dance training with Sharon McCormick, her mother, atLake Arrowhead Classical Ballet. She went on to train at Pacific Northwest Ballet,Joffrey Ballet and San Francisco Ballet, where she had the opportunity to dance with the company. With an interest in understanding functional movement and injury prevention, Alwyn furthered her education and studied with the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries and became a certified Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis instructor. Alwyn danced professionally for fifteen years, and began teaching ballet to children at the Colorado Ballet. Alwyn is delighted to share her love and passion for dance with the students at Cobble Hill Ballet.
PAM BEYER began her dance training as a child at Coupé Dance Studio - one of her teachers being Colette Linton-Meyer! During her years at Coupé, she also studied at several summer intensive programs including; Pennsylvania Ballet, Houston Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Dance New York International in Spain. She studied at the Dance Conservatory of SUNY Purchase College, where she graduated with a BFA in Dance. Pam is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3. Pam loves sharing the joy that comes from ballet with the children of Cobble Hill Ballet.
CATHERINE BORRONE was classically trained in New Hampshire under the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Presented by Mignon Furman, Catherine received Silver and Gold with Distinction medals from the American Academy of Dance Performance Awards. She continued her training under the Vaganova syllabus with Mary McCarthy, as well as Walnut Hill, Boston Ballet, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She was a scholarship recipient under the direction of Peggy Lyman, to attend The Hartt School and holds a BFA in Dance Performance. Catherine has danced professionally with several companies in New York City including The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center, where she had the honor of working with Tony Award winning Director Bartlett Sher. In 2018, Catherine continued her pedagogy education at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s Teacher Workshop, led by Founding Artistic Director Marcia Dale Weary and Associate Artistic Director Darla Hoover. She has held open classes at New York City Center Studios and has traveled as a guest teacher throughout the US. Catherine is thrilled to be on the faculty of Cobble Hill Ballet.
HAYLEY APPELMAN, a Vermont native, graduated from SUNY Purchase College with a BFA from the Conservatory of Dance. She has performed around the world in Spain, China, Australia, San Fransisco and Vermont performing works by Mats Ek, Jose Limon, Nacho Duato and George Balanchine and most recently A Chorus Line. Hayley has guest taught for The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, as well as ballet schools in California, Vermont and Massachusetts. She is the co-founder/director of Appleburne Workshops, a children's theater and movement workshop that harnesses kids imagination through storytelling and dance. She is thrilled to be sharing her passion for such a beautiful art form with so many young Brooklyn dancers.
NICOLE RESTANI is a Florida native, she began her pre-professional training at Dillard Center for the Arts Magnet High School and continued her studies at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance where she completed her BFA. She has had the pleasure of dancing with The Shadow Box Theater and IsadoraNow throughout the NYC boroughs, Dance Now! in Miami, Jubilee Dance Theater throughout Spain, and with Stephan Koplowitz in Spoleto, Italy. She is a current member of Michael Mao Dance and Dušan Týnek Dance Theatre. Nicole helped develop an outreach program for middle school ages and is thrilled to bring dance to public schools in Brooklyn. Dance being her utmost passion, she is thrilled to share it with the young movers in Cobble Hill!
CHARLOTTE REARDON was born in England, and started her dance training at a ballet boarding school, Hurst Lodge. From there, Charlotte was accepted to Laine Theatre Arts, on a 3yr Diploma in professional dance and musical theatre. Charlotte studied an FDI teaching qualification in RAD Classical ballet and ISTD Modern, and performed in London. After graduating Charlotte took up a 9-month contract with Disney Land, in Paris. From Paris, Charlotte came to New York to train with Alvin Ailey. Charlotte was then invited to stay in the US to train and perform with the Merce Cunningham Company and later transferred to 'Ballet Arts at City Centre' Charlotte is delighted to share her passion for Dance with the children at CHBallet.
REMI HARRIS teaches our Modern classes, she is a Brooklyn based performer, curator, producer, and choreographer whose work explores the intersectionality between dance, new media, and female representation. In addition to performing, she works on her own creative projects under her choreographic venture dancesbyremi. Her work has been presented at Abrons Art Center, Brooklyn Studios for Dance, Danspace Project, Teatro La Tea, Triskelion Arts, The Actors Fund Theater and The Brick Theater. A native of Barbados, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY where she received her initial dance training. She graduated with a BA in Dance from Hofstra University where she was on scholarship. In 2016 she was commissioned for a new work by Women in Motion, an organization dedicated to supporting female choreographers.
LARISSA ASEBEDO is originally from the Denver area where she began training in classical ballet. She moved to the New York area to attend the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College where she had the privilege of studying abroad in Perth, Australia during her third year. As she completed her B.F.A. she worked with Kyle Abraham, The Merce Cunningham Trust, Xan Burley, and John Heginbotham. Currently, Larissa performs and shows work as a freelance dance artist. She teaches Pilates classes at Sal Anthony’s Movement Salon and is a Dance Education Laboratory alumni where she studied at the 92 Street Y’s Harkness Dance Center. Larissa is very happy to be joining the staff at Cobble Hill Ballet to further share her encompassing love for dance.
